With Topo Maps+ PRO you can add regions to the map. Sometimes the information you want to track on the map can’t be captured with just waypoints and routes. For example, maybe you want to keep track of an area where you found good huckleberries or a property boundary that you want to stay in while you are hunting or a region where you have searched.
With Topo Maps+ there are four ways to add regions to the map.
1. Add a region by walking around it.
You can record a track and then create a region from that track. When you have selected the track you want to create a region from, swipe to the left to get the settings for that track. Then select Create Region. This will create a region from your track. You can then customize the name and color of the region.
2. Add a region from waypoints.
You can also add a region from waypoints. This is especially helpful when you create waypoints at the corners of the region by standing on the locations and adding a waypoint from your current location. To create a region from waypoints select Add in the toolbar, then Add Region on Map, and then Add Region with Waypoints.
Next tap on the waypoints in the order you want them to be added to the region. As you select the waypoints you will see a green dot appear below them and you will see how the region looks with what you have created so far. When you are done, tap on the done button.
3. Add a region by selecting points on the map.
You can also add a region by selecting locations on the map. Select Add in the toolbar, then Add Region on Map, and then Add Region with Points.
Next move the crosshairs to the location where you want to add a point and then select Add Point At Crosshairs for each point you want to add to the region. Tap on Done when you have finished.
4. You can add a region by tracing around it.
Finally, you can add a region by tracing around the region. Select Add in the toolbar, then Add Region on Map, and then Trace New Region.
Next move the crosshairs to where you want to start tracing and tap on Start. Then move the crosshairs around the region and tap on Done when you have finished.
